Introduction to the Music Video Project
On this music project, I am going to be working by myself. I am working by myself with the resources I have at home and the internet. I choose to work by myself because it's a bit of a struggle to work with someone online. I am also working by myself because of Covid-19. Also to have to depend on another person for things and then not be on time for the deadline. I choose the song "freedom" by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. This song was made by two black influential people for the black community. The song freedom is a very important song that speaks on the history of what the black race has had to go through. I choose the song freedom because of the current climate that we are in with racial discrimination. Racial discrimination is any discrimination against any individual on the basis of their skin color or racial or ethnic origin. In the video for “Freedom,” the mothers of black men who died at police hands join with young black women who’ve been ridiculed for their appearance. Beyonce unites them to say that black women will be the makers of their own liberation. “I can’t move,” a lyric said in the song might be an allusion to “I can’t breathe”; yelled by Eric Garner upon being choked to death by NYC police officers on July 17, 2014. Which is showing another instance of racial injustice. The song freedom is basically Beyonce as a representation fighting for a change in the United Staes. Freedom has been taken away from black communities for hundreds of years. This topic is very important to me cause it should be important to the world to want to make a change. And MAKE A CHANGE. Also, it's important to me as a young black woman.
