Filming blog

On Thursday, the 29th I started filming with my actors. One of the actors was unable to make it so I took over and filmed the commercial and acted as well. As the director, I brought all the props. I set up the area and made sure that the camera was working. For the first scene, I had to prop the camera up and make sure the light was right as well as the paper. But for some scenes, I was forced to hold the camera to shoot the scene. I made sure to direct the specific scenes and angles that went along with it. I reshoot many scenes that I felt need work or needed to be a bit faster. Another thing is that I made sure that the paper mate logo was angled to show the camera. In another scene, I made sure to make sure the set fit the frame to show the action that was taking place, Along with doing that the entire process took about 5 minutes nothing major. But trying to make the film look the best. In the last scene, I made sure to take multiple takes to show the giving nature that pape...

Planning Storyboard for my paper mate commercial

Image
First scene-  During this scene, I will be filming paper mate pens, specifically black paper mate pens for the commercial. This shot will be a relatively frame filled scene with all the action that's taking place. The location of this shoot will be on my white crafting table. By doing so it will give the drawing more pop for the drawing just as so the paper mate commercials do.  Second scene- In the next scene in the commercials, I wanted to include both actors to start drawing a flower. The location of this part of the scene is still on my crafting table. This camera shot will be a relatively short shot. Third scene- In the third scene, the camera jumps to the drawing progressing into a flower in the middle being the main attention and everything thing else around it. This camera shot will be a short shot. Forth scene- In the fourth scene, the drawing will slowly come together with ink joy being written into the middle of the drawing. To show the audience it's a paper m...

Props  Since I have decided to produce a paper mate commercial, my main prop is a paper mate pen. Other props I use would be tape, a white piece of fabric, and a card. Costumes Although in my commercials only the hands of my actors will be seen. I will not be having any costumes but I will make sure that the hands of my actors will look acceptable.  Schedule  On 10/22/2020, I researched conventions and codes of pen commercials On 10/23/2020, I established the props, schedule, location list, and backup plan. On 10/26/2020, I will create the storyboard for my 30 second commercial  On 10/29/2020, I will film and record the necessary shots for my commercial On 10/30/2020, I will edit and add the final touches to the commercial  Location List My main location would be my craft table. At my crafting table is where I will film my actors and my hand drawing. This would help emphasize the need for sharing and people coming together for a pen of great quality. Also, I wou...

Research blog:commercial

I am doing a Paper Mate commercial, in these commercials the audience usually sees people's hand drawing with pens. That glide like melted butter on the paper. The props they tend to use in the commercials would be pens self-writing and sometimes humans drawing. Also, another prop they use would be a cat.  The scores through the commercials are fast-paced sounds that are meant to make the audience feel how smooth the pens write. Also of how fast it writes because of its smoothness. The appearance is usually a colorful assortment of different colored pens smoothly and in a fast pace drawing. A beautiful drawing with ink joy in the middle. Conventions and codes in Paper Mate pens include 2 hearts and with an added "share the love and make a difference" slogan. This slogan sparks the media of sharing with people, helping people out whenever they are in need. In the commercials, the props are always angled to show the paper mate or ink joy on the pen to let the audience know...
